Of course Professor Rammsteiner had to drag him down with him; Jade would have snapped at him if he wasn't busy spluttering as well, goosebumps breaking out all over his body at the sudden chill of being submerged in water. His clothes feel heavy, weighing him down. He tries to slide his wrist out from Professor Rammsteiner's grip and hold onto the edge of the pool, but it's too late - something had dragged Professor Rammsteiner below the surface of the water already, and he can feel that same thing reaching for him as well, wrapping around his ankle.

At least now he knows for certain that there's something in here. Not that it'd help him if he dies here. He's being dragged down alongside Professor Rammsteiner, pulled deep underwater, as whatever is coiled around their ankles start slithering up, until it's wrapped around the whole length of their legs.
